From a very young age, I have known that I was extremely intelligent as I was always among the top of my class. I was always in the top 3, and have always felt special as a result. My parents have been proud of all my accomplishments, and I know that I can grasp most subjects with ease. Little did I know that there was a flip side to this…and that flip side would show up when I grew older and started dating.
I started dating when I was 16 and initially it was cute but as time passed I started seeing a trend. This trend was that a alot of the men that I was meeting were not as inteeligent or interested in much else than sports and travel.
Now after many years of know about this situation that as a bright young woman, it can be more difficult to find someone, especially for the long term. Don’t get me wrong, as I do not think that men are not smart or anything like that…just that both men and women who are extremely smart have difficulty finding someone to date, someone who shares their interests.
As a smart girl who found a loving companion in an extremely clever and intelligent man, I have to admit that even though it may take some time to meet a charming and intelligent man it is completely worth the wait.
So finally, I have these suggestions for all the smart women. First of all, do not get overly concerned and bothered while dating. A good approach is to play it cool, enjoy your time and interaction as much as you can and then take it from there. One mistake that many bright young women make is take this too seriously and also be a bit impatient. When you accept that this process can take some time and a few different people that you may encounter, it becomes easier.
Smart women also sometimes tend to use too much analysis while dating but this could be fatal. We need to recognize that everyone is different and the actions of one person may have a very different meaning than another person. I agree that dating can be challenging and even frustrating at times, but it is imperative you stay positive during this process, and also patient. While being analytical is a good thing in general, being overly analytical can take all the fun out of any process and lead to complications when there are none.
